Well, after debating it for a while, I decided to spring for a Ruger 10/22 Carbine Scoped Black Semi Automatic Rifle – 22 Long Rifle. It was purchased off the Sportmans Warehouse web site, boy did shipping take a while, and worse than that, the pickup procedure was awful. First I had to wait in line 45 minutes before filling out the background check form. Then I was told that they’d contact me after they got approval. That took 8 days. Then I stood in line for 3 hours to pick up the firearm. When I finally got waited on, I asked the clerk why the long wait, he said they were short workers. The only good point of the whole process was that I was able to make additional purchases without standing in yet another long line.

Anyways, on to the gun. I haven’t had a chance to take it to the range to test it out. I bought the gun, with a scope mounted and boresighted, to supplement a S&W M&P 15-22 with a red dot sight. This gun isn’t as accurate as I’d like it to be, and no amount of fiddling has made it more accurate. It may be user error, but well, I’d actually like to be able to hit the varmints I’m trying to dispatch. Time will tell if my purchase was worth the hassle. I could hope more for the scope, a Viridian Eon according to the scope. It’s a 3-9×40 scope that costs $89 on Amazon. But I guess it’s a good deal since I got the rifle, scope and inexpensive case for $320.
